The few revelations that have dawned on me recently and which can change the future of mankind....

1. I, hence forth abandon the path of serious blogging.. fer obvious reasons

2. Good core companies can anytime send u a mobile phone as a gift, not in anticipation of u joinin thier team but as a companion to a letter of regret...

3. Bitsians are over enthu for two things, extra vocab classes and female teachers..

4. There still exists a breed of young single men who are still mourning their one year old breakup. (and they said men are not sentimental...)

5. Anyone and everyone can make a fool out of you so trust no one... specially close frnds.

6. Off campus recruitment exams are not my cup of tea..

7.Frustration is a feeliing that can be subdued but cannot be eradicated completely. It follows an exponential graph [exp(p)] where p is a combined affect of all your failures - (3 * the no of tequilla shots you have had)

8. Chicken can be more adictive than alcohol, shld only be distributed in controlled quantities.

9. Getting braces can become a fashion too, dont follow it.. dont know wat might be next..

10. Consumerism is eating us up.. My laptop is 2 yr old and it feels like frm the dark age!! i hate this.

End of an Era

I am writing this post from the luxury of the my home. I just reached here leaving behind the four best years of my life till date.. you cannot imagine what you learn even without intending to learn. The good friends, the not so good friends and sometimes the not so close people all have an impact on you and your life. My college was a great learning experience for me. Teachers taught us, atleast some tried. I just want to record this that my perception of life was drastically altered when i left the nest and entered the unknown world on my own. Now that i am back to my nest i miss the unknown and free world i had. tc

VELLORE PADI

Sometimes when you stroll around in the summer night staring at the stars you feel relaxed and sober. A place so far away from the city, with the soul of the country, the rusticity of a village and the population so down to earth that you feel you are taking a walk down the memory lane. But when this same place becomes a reality and shatters your concept of college life and you are left cheated… 'Vellore' the place which can be so easily renamed Village just by changing the three letters shatters the dreams hopes and aspiration of millions of students who are lured into VIT every year.
Harbingering a dream college after watching the various adaptation of college life in the Hindi movies
(eg: MAIN HU NA ) and reaffirming their false hopes in the VIT brochure, we the teen come here, Vellore which doesn't even have its own railway station ( for railway enthu's it did just recently and no train stops there) is a small town away from the city life. The place exists because it harbors two colleges . The mother tongue is Tamil and if a person dares to start up a conversation in the Hindi u get stared at as if you just told Raghu that roadies suxs and Hinduism roxs. The auto drivers the shop keepers and all those you can visualize in a lungi have been born for the sole aim of misleading you and swindling you of all the money. The night life is the main highlight of this place, there is not a dog barking out at 9 pm only boys roaming around till 9'30 coz tats the max boys are allowed to be out of hostels. No comments on the girls hostel recently they received a letter of sympathy and brotherhood from the Tihar jail inmates.
The only happening places to be are the dhaba's which have sprung up in the neighborhood and having no choice to go we hog food which we cannot digest and pay for it too. You can have every dish you can imagine being cooked but with a twist. You get free kari-patta the whole branch of the poor plant in a bowl of chicken or veggies and if that is not enough we can have the south Indian style chicken where they convince you that its coconut which has been misnamed and misinterpreted for so long as chicken. People here are very religious and pious so much that half the men and women yes underlined women don't have hair. They shaved it off as a gift to god. Why on earth god who made everything from sun, moon, gold, silver gems want your hair. They are meant to be on your head. Sometimes they paint their faces with turmeric and say it's purifying. People have a shower that's purifying, that's how you stay clean and not by roaming around in public face yellow.
One casual question if you have a friend a close one and you walk in public what do you do. They hold hands ,the men do, why on earth do you want to publicly portray that you are not straight. Well some cultures you can't and shouldn't understand. The only thing to be learned is that there are no colleges where you can live the life SRK and CO live in their larger than life screen lives. And also that you can be beaten up by the public for not believing in the stunts that Rajinikant performs on screen. There are actually ways in which a bullet can be bisected by a knife in mid air to kill two Gundas. Scientist in Katpadi are already working on it and a paper will be presented very soon in the SED'S conference. ;)

Doom of Swat Valley

Whenever a country is terrorized or is under the threat by a fundamentalist and separatist section of individuals the country is bound to take action against such an association. The actions taken can be military, political and social ban or can be as moderate as giving the defaulting group right to exist but peacefully. No country can allow any organization to take control of a region let alone a state. Pakistan on the other hand has not only allowed the Taliban occupants of the Swat valley to exercise control over the region but have also given them a free hand on imposing there own Sharia law in the valley. The contemporary Sharia laws are a group of religious laws which enunciates about economic and social rights of person, women rights, freedom and justice and many more. The various laws of Sharia have been so misinterpreted and amputated that they portrait the barbarity to which human being can stoop to.

Sharia law which had more provisions for women than any other law in the whole world till the 19^th century, has become so torturous that is does not allow education of girls. A normal girl can be sent to prison and even awarded the death sentence for having a desire to be educated or if she refuses to wear a veil. She cannot go out of there home unattended by a male. Men cannot shave. Women convicted of adultery are killed by pelting stones. In this era of democracy when Pakistan boasts of having a responsible democratic government, how can it allow such absurdity in the name of religion. Religion as we know it is nothing but norms of how to live and not how to die and kill. It teaches us about how society can flourish and prosper not how it can wilt away and die. Religion is a choice you make. We can ask what was the fault of the innocent child that was born to a Muslim family under Taliban rule. Why can’t that child have dreams and equip herself to complete them. Why does she have to be a servant from birth till death. Who gives them the right to impose these draconian laws and finish her flight before she could even dream of flying.

We the people of the free world should understand. There is no religion which teaches to kill. It’s the people who want power, they use faith to impose injustice and justify manslaughter. They use religion as a tool to spread hatred and use authority. Islam has been type caste, there is no religion in the world which did not endure misuse and misinterpretations, but Islam has endured the most. Islam followers all over the world should understand and rise up as one force against the fundamentalists and slap them back to there senses. We don’t need bloodshed and hate, we need faith and peace. I could only imagine the horrors and nightmares of the people of Swat valley. Can there government trade them so cheaply for few days of peaceful sleep. I say few days because the greed of the oppressor is as deep as an unending well. They just keep on falling to lower limits, limits you can never even imagine.

dreams

How many times has it been that you have sat down to think of everything that is happening to you. The things that have fading away in past and the eluding dreams you want to hold on to, which might never come true. This portion of literary labour would be aspiring to apprise ourselves of our dreams and their need. ‘We have them everyday’, you will say, ‘some are random or disturbing others just amusing or comforting’. Dreams come to you from the back of your mind, where we throw away all our memories forgotten for ever, discarded and dented. In those studios of utter chaos, the mind churns up images from your past mixes them with your present and presents before you the anachronistic views which many a times we mistake as the future. Have you ever had a dream which has come true? A déjà vu?. I have had that feeling many times of being here doing this knowing what will happen next. Many believe in the power of mind to be capable of such feats. I believe the mind to be the magician who bluffs you off your own beliefs. He can play tricks. Please don’t mind me pronouncing the brain as ‘he’, my clarifications are that my reference to the brain here is mine own and having a female version of the same inside me would make me uncomfortable to an extent. So he can be elusive at times playing practical jokes on you. Appall your senses when the ordinary is nothing to be mesmerized about. You don’t have to be dead drunk to fooled, thou small quantities of the worldly hallucinating pleasures might give this trickster a bigger stage and an astounding larger than life presence.

You must be thinking where my argument is taking you. It is not to make you believe that your own mind is instigating against you. Nor do I want to prove that déjà vu do occur. I just want to place one question in your head. Why do we dream? The scientific explanation is that the body rests but the brain keeps on playing, the child loves to play in the sand when mommy sleeps and in there he finds astonishing facts, clarity horrors. He picks these up and sprinkles them on his mommy while she sleeps so that she can feel the same. Please spare me the questions about if mommy is dreaming or not, or if the kid is from kindergarten or primary school. It’s a metaphor. The thinkers present an alternate view. They say that the brain is in meditation and while it is doing so it is moving through past present and future. Like an antivirus scanning for boot errors? Confused and dejected I asked the most intelligent comrade of mine, he has the knowledge of tens of thousands of books. Wiki as he is called told me a lot about dreams. He said that dreams are sequence images, sounds and feelings experienced while sleeping, strongly associated with rapid eye movement sleep. The contents and biological purposes of dreams are not fully understood, though they have been a topic of speculation and interest throughout recorded history. Still not satisfied I enquired why people dream, he said “Dreams allow the repressed parts of the mind to be satisfied through fantasy while keeping the conscious mind from thoughts that would suddenly cause one to awaken from shock”. Confused I always am I think dreams are parts of us which we cannot understand. Be it going to the moon and cloning a sheep man has achieved great feats but I would stand up and applaud the study which will unearth what is undreamt of. Explain dreams as they are…
